Ivory Ella

I haven’t ridden an elephant (yet), but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to save them! Shopping Ivory Ella lets me do just that: save the elephants.

Started in 2015 and located in Westerly, Rhode Island, Ivory Ella might be based state side, but it doesn't stop their impact from reaching across the globe. When you purchase an Ivory Ella item, a donation of 10% of their net profits goes to savetheelephants.org! So far, that’s $679,671!

What does that donation do?

  1. Aid in the research of elephant behavior and ecology
  2. Protect elephants from ivory poachers and traffickers
  3. Raises awareness about the struggle of elephants from becoming endangered

I know what you are going to say. “10%? Is that enough? Why not 100%?” Before we judge, perhaps we should remember that every little bit helps; far too often we are quick to question the good others do, while we ourselves don’t pick up the slack.

Plus, currently they are participating in the #KnotOnMyPlanet campaign! By purchasing their 100% cotton, screen-printed in America Pocketed Taupe Heart Knot Print shirt, 100% of the net profits go to The Elephant Crisis Fund. That is a coalition spread  across 22 countries, which supports 52 organizations, and has funded 105 projects to date! That’s a lot of elephants saved, protected, and loved.

If Elephants aren’t your thing, you should know that Ivory Ella occasionally donates to other causes as well through the creation of special prints or fun giveaways. Some of their recipients include (but are not limited to) The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Toys For Tots, and The American Heart Association. Through their blog you can also learn about how they gave shirts and other goodies to patients in the Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, RI!

If you are ready to take a stand then purchase through Ivory Ella or even donate directly to savetheelphants.org, I encourage you to join in! And, if you dig free stuff, you should know that you can send a self-addressed, stamped envelope, and your best drawing of an elephant to: Ivory Ella, P.O. Box 1908, Westerly, RI 02891, and they will send you a free sticker.

So support elephants by shopping Ivory Ella, and keep updated by following on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, and Snapchat (shopivoryella)!
