Alternative

Let’s talk alternatives in a world with such a lack of transparency and workers rights to earn a fair wage: Alternative!

This certified Green Business was awarded for their responsible practices by the city of Los Angeles. In the heart of America’s bustling tv and film industries, Alternative always thinks of the environment. Whether it be recycling, using green cleaning products and lighting, encouraging ridesharing to the office or keeping their factories up to the standards of the Fair Labor Association (FLA) Workplace Code of Conduct, they're always going above and beyond! Alternative lists the 8 factories from all over the world that are in accordance to the FLA.

What has this brand been providing customers since 1995?

  1. Uses recycled poly & materials
  2. Uses non-toxic low-impact dyes and natural dyes
  3. Over 70% of their fabrics are sustainable (Eco & Organic fabrics)
  4. Use a G2 Eco-Wash, cleaning clothes with 60% less water and no chemicals
  5. And uses factories certified by Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP), an independent, non-profit team of “global social compliance experts”

Alternative also lists “Brands We Love” to connect their customers to other sustainable and eco-conscious companies! While they are not yet Certified Fair Trade, I truly appreciate their super soft Alternative Eco apparel, and their passion to better themselves and the world.

Follow their blog, and find them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and even Youtube. But, most importantly, shop with them in Venice, New York City, San Francisco, or online!
